ST coverage?
Where/when is all the Spring Training coverage on FSN Midwest? Am I just missing it?

I'm watching from Maryland, but I pay DIRECTV a million dollars so I can get FSN Midwest. Yet I can't seem to find any baseball coverage!

Trade News
A friend of mine just texted me with this info a bit ago, so I thought I'd share, in case you hadn't heard yet.

Cardinals trade Blake Hawksworth to Dodgers for Ryan Theriot.

Apparently Mo said on the radio that as of right now, Theriot is our starting shortstop, although there's talk of moving Skip to more of a utility role, which could put Theriot at second and keep Ryan at short.

We've also signed a LH relief pitcher, Brian Tallet to a one-year deal.

I have to admit, it's going to take me a while to get used to seeing The Riot in a Cardinals uniform!

Cardinals reach deal with Westbrook
The Cardinals have signed Jake Westbrook to a two-year deal, with an option for 2013.

Looks like our rotation is set for next year, assuming Lohse has a decent Spring Training.

Opening Day
As I was driving back to Chicago today I had to go through a couple tolls. When I came up to one particular toll, the operator said he wasn't happy about my Cardinals license plate frames. He told me to put my hand over my heart and say "Go Cubs" or else he wouldn't let me through. My response? "I'd rather sit here all day."

Who's ready?!

Lopez Signs with Cards
I noticed that no one posted this, so just in case you didn't hear, Felipe Lopez signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals yesterday.

Definitely a good move, in my opinion. Should help our bench quite a bit.

Being reported by Sports Illustrated: 7 years, $120 million.

Brad Penny?
Joe Strauss (and Derrick Goold) are reporting that the Cardinals are on the verge of signing pitcher Brad Penny.

From Joe Strauss:
- Giants all but acknowledge Penny gone. For now, Cardinals holding back pending physical. Money apparently in place.
Incentives could represent as much as 33 percent of total value of Penny one-year contract.
Sources close to player, team say deal with Penny all but done pending physical.

Pujols Elbow Procedure
Pujols is scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery today in Birmingham, Ala., to remove bone chips from his right elbow. Reported to me a minor procedure and Pujols would be available for spring training as opposed to ligament replacement surgery which would have been more like June.

Waino Finale
Good luck to Adam Wainwright as he takes the mound tonight for his final start of the regular season. If he gets the win tonight, I think the Cy Young is as good as his.
